Robin Thicke & Pharrell Court Ordered To Pay $7 Million To Marvin Gaye Estate

Jurors took two days to decide that Robin Thicke and producer Pharrell violated the copyrights of the late Marvin Gaye; now they must pay $7.4 million.

The judgement says the pair essentially stole the sound of Marvin Gaye’s hit song, “Got To Give It Up.” T.I., who is also in the suit, was exonerated.

Here’s what Nona Gaye said:

“Right now, I feel free. Free from … Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke’s chains and what they tried to keep on us and the lies that were told.”
