Love & Hip Hop New York’s Mendeecees Harris’ time as a free man is limited. The reality star was sentenced to 8 years in prison for drug trafficking charges, but he has been out on bond since April.
According to sources Mendeecees has been ordered to turn himself in to the Allenwood Low federal prison in Pennsylvania by 2 p.m. on January 19.
Since PA is almost 4 hours away from his wife, Yandy Smith and their kids, Mendeecees’ lawyer has asked the court if he can be moved to a facility closer to NYC.
Harris would rather serve his sentence at the Otisville federal prison, which is an hour and a half drive from NYC. He’s also concerned about being too far away for Yandy to bring his daughter to visit him when she turns 1 on January 26.
The court made the request to have Mendeecees moved closer to home, but the ultimate decision is in the hands of the U.S. Bureau of Prisons.
