Today August 11th marks the 43rd anniversary of hip hop culture. This day August 11, 1973 is considered the birth date of hip hop because of Kool Herc’s sister Cindy who threw the famous block party jam at 1520 Sedgwick Ave and Cedar Park in the West Bronx. Little did they know that Cindy and her brother DJ Kool Herc would set off culture revolution. I would like to say Happy Birthday to hip hop, and a big shout out to DJ Kool Herc & the rest of the pioneers who help created and shaped this beautiful culture known as hip hop today. Thank You!!!
