90’s Rappers that are still relevant today

Nas: 1994 was without a doubt an incredible year for rap music. One of the primary reasons being Nas’ ‘Illmatic’. He’s come along way since then, as you can now hear him rapping about concepts that you may hear from a more seasoned emcee such as faith and fatherhood. In an Orlando concert earlier this year, Nas announced he would be dropping an album this summer, which will be his first since ‘Life Is Good'(2012).
Jadakiss: Many may not give this dude the credit he deserves, as an artist that was really out there with the big dogs. Along with Styles P, Jadakiss worked with Biggie and the then ‘Puff Daddy’. Nowadays you can find him spitting over nearly anybody’s beat, and featuring on nearly anybody’s song. At least until the release of the overdue ‘Top 5, Dead or Alive’.
Scarface: Although we haven’t heard an album from him since late 2008, Scarface continues to cultivate and extend the 90’s rap music vibe that helped hip-hop become what it is now, through his singles and features. Up to the point that he released the 2008 album, Emeritus, he was very consistent, and fans can only hope that he’ll pick up where he left off with the release of his upcoming album ‘Deeply Rooted’.
E-40: In the 90’s, E-40 created the unmistakable signature flow that we all know and love. It’s no surprise that he has the creativity and ingenuity to survive in the game for over 25 years. The ‘Sharp On All 4 Corners’ series has knocked two down, and it’s hard to believe that E-40 would deprive his fans of Corners 3 and 4, we’re definitely ready!
Too Short: The thing you may not understand about Too Short is that he is one of few artists to have significant work before the nineties. That’s right, we’re taking it back to the 80’s! The nearly 50 year old OG is still performing around the nation, and if you’re in the LA area you can definitely look forward to seeing him along with some other top of the line artists this summer, and if you’re lucky, you can even get a preview of his album that’s rumored to be dropping within the year!
