3 rappers who dropped classic albums this year

Pronto – Freddie Gibbs
The only prominent artist coming from Indiana today continues to dabble into different types of instrumentals. His diverse style allows him to be adaptable and versatile with his music. From trap beats, to the great production of Madlib, and now to psychedelic-influenced beats, the 3-track EP was an excellent light snack to hold us over before his ‘Lifestyles of the Insane’, which he claims should should be dropping later this year.
To Pimp A Butterfly – Kendrick Lamar
As an artist who’s never afraid to push the envelope and expand the boundaries of his craft, Kendrick allows himself to be a vessel of experimental hip-hop. ‘To Pimp A Butterfly’ is an example of his experimental practices. The future of the game may be affected by the integrity and creativity of artists like Kendrick, and fans look forward to seeing whether or not experiments like this stand the test of time.
Mr. Wonderful – Action Bronson
Action’s definitely come a long way. From whippin’ up meals, to moving up in the game, the former chef successfully extends the east-coast style and movement that originated in the late 80’s and early 90’s, capturing some of it’s best aspects while tossing in some original ingredients of his own. ‘Mr. Wonderful’ the album acknowledges Action Bronson’s contribution to the hip hop genre as he pays justice to the production of The Alchemist, 40, and Party Supplies.
