Search Selling "Illmatic" And "It Was Written"

MC Serch of the groundbreaking group 3rd Bass is largely responsible for our introduction to Nasty Nas. He is in fact, executive producer of Nas’s first two seminal albums “Illmatic” and “It Was Written”, and is reportedly looking to sell his ownership in both projects. The decision threatens to open up a bigger conversation of race in Hip Hop, one that Serch has no doubt been through countless times. It’s obvious that the man can do whatever he wants with what he owns and that includes cashing in on his hard work. We have been rockin’ with Search here at the Rap Scene and we support his decision. Hopefully the business backs up what he wants to do because his catalogue goes deeper than Nas and we want to see him get what he deserves.
