Young Dolph Dead at Age 36

Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., better known as the rapper Young Dolph, was shot dead in Memphis, TN. The 36 year old was born July 27, 1985 in Chicago, IL and died November 17, 2021 due to injuries sustained in a shooting as he stopped at Makeda’s Butter Cookies, something he was regularly known for.

Dolph released seven studio albums and a slew of mixtapes in his short career starting with “Paper Route Campaign” in 2008. He began his independent label Paper Route Empire in 2010, coinciding with his second mixtape, “Welcome to Dolph World”. Over the years he has memorably collaborated with acts like 2 Chainz, Lil Durk, Gucci Mane, O.T. Genasis and his cousin, Key Glock.

The scene was reportedly chaotic as fans flocked the shop where Dolph met his end. Police worked to keep the crowd contained as onlookers expressed their pain and disbelief towards the loss of their legend. He was well known for his outreach and charitable acts he performed throughout the Memphis area and was even scheduled to pass out Thanksgiving turkeys this coming Friday.

Young Dolph is the latest incident of a trend of rappers facing violent deaths. He was well loved within the industry with many stars taking to social media to express condolences.
