After reaching 8 million platinum status at the top of the year, Roddy’s 2019 chart-topping hit “The Box” finally surpassed 10 million sales in the U.S. on Monday, earning him his first-ever diamond certification.
“The Box” was Ricch’s introduction to the world, and has been doing numbers since its release in 2019. Highlighting Ricch’s debut album, Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial, “The Box” achieved the rare combination of viral and real-life success, and after going 8X platinum back in January, 2021 and 9X platinum later in July, the record has finally reached the 10,000,000 sales mark, earning an RIAA Diamond certification.
The West Coast crooner received his diamond plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) at a celebratory dinner that evening, which was attended by friends and family.
