Nike Pays Homage To The “City Of Angels” With A New Air Force 1

The Nike Air Force 1 40th Birthday has produced a number of exciting releases, from a three-part partnership with Stussy to a luxury makeover by none other than Louis Vuitton. Even the GRs bring a certain energy, as they’re oftentimes just as unique as their collaborative counterparts. This upcoming pair, which pays homage to the City of Angels, is but further proof of this, incorporating both a series of patches and a colorway that’s somewhat Dodgers-friendly.

A deep blue canvas sets the base, complementing the lighter shade used for the Swoosh, which is not far off tonally from 1/2 of UCLA’s own signature colors. The laces, lining, and midsole opt for a more neutral look so as not to distract from the various patches that adorn the shoe from toe to heel. And these, alongside overt nods to Los Angeles itself, feature a wide range of graphics, many of which play around with the Swoosh as well as classic Nike slogans.

For a closer look at this upcoming Air Force 1, check out the leaked imagery below. Currently, no release date has been confirmed just yet; more details should surface soon, however, so sit tight. We can confirm that there’s also a “NY” pair in white/gold/coconut milk, so stay tuned for a first look.
