Lil Wayne Is Reportedly Suing Birdman For A Very Pretty Penny

After publicly airing out his grievances with Birdman over the delay of his Tha Carter V album, Weezy declared that he wanted “off this label and nothing to do with these people” back in December. Now, the rapper is looking to hit his former mentor of over twenty years with a hefty lawsuit for $8 million.

According to TMZ, Wayne’s fight to be let off of Cash Money has been halted by Birdman, who refuses to part ways. The lawsuit is reportedly an advance for Tha Carter V that was not paid to Wayne. The rapper is also requesting to be let out of his contract, citing a breach by Birdman for stalling the album’s release.

On his latest mixtape Sorry 4 The Wait 2, Wayne references his beef with Cash Money and Birdman on his “Coco” remix:

Who kept this shit together? Nigga, me, that’s who
Who was there when niggas left us? Nigga, me, that’s who
Cash Money is an army, I’m a one man army
And if them niggas comin’ for me, I’m goin’ out like Tony
Now I don’t want no problems, I just want my money
Ain’t gotta hold no conversation or my luggage
Tell whoever’s countin’ that I’m on a hundred
Birdman Jr., more like Ugly Duckling

Tha Carter V has not been given a new release date. Lil Wayne will reportedly continue to release music, outside of the Cash Money umbrella.
