Ice T Becomes The Latest Rapper In 2023 To Get A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Ice-T will be honored with the 2,747th on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, February 17, at 11:30 a.m. The star will be dedicated at 7065 Hollywood Boulevard. Ice-T will be awarded the star in the category of Recording.

Born in New Jersey, Ice T quickly learned the art of survival. An only child whose parents died when he was very young, Ice T became involved in Los Angeles gangs before spending four years in the Army. He went on to become rap’s original gangster, writing songs such as “6 ‘N the Mornin’” and the Grammy nominated “New Jack Hustler.”

Ice-T not only invented gangster rap, he has lived it. He is the original embodiment of L.A. hip-hop and a cultural icon. Through his music, books and lecture tours of America’s prisons, high schools, libraries and colleges (including Harvard, Princeton and Stanford), Ice-T has become an influential spokesman for America’s youth, regardless of color.

“Ice-T is a cultural icon and a success both in the music and television industries. His fans will be very excited to see their favorite performer placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ice’s star will be situated near the stars of music greats such as Thelonius Monk, Dizzy Gillespie, Luciano Pavarotti, Mama Cass Elliott, John Denver, Herbie Hancock to name a few,” added Martinez.
