Three months ago, Drake, heart in his head, accepted the Billboard Award for Artist of the Decade. Today he makes history with 9 of the top 10 records on the prestigious publications weekly Hot 100 list. Securing the entire top five to match a record set by The Beatles in 1964, “Certified Lover Boy” has done something truly amazing in the 2021 landscape of music.
Starting out with “Way Too Sexy” feat. Young Thug, the list is dominated by Drake. His highly anticipated album it seems did not disappoint his fans as the Toronto emcee continues his advance. This has truly been a good year for him. There are twelve other tracks on CLB and somehow the Kid LAROI feat. the Biebs slid into the number six spot.
Billboard tallies that the nine Drake songs on the list racked up over 440 million streams in one week. Those numbers include official audio and visual streams while Billboard also factors in radio airplay and sales data. All in all, Drake is far from finished. Wonder what Kanye is gonna say.
