Famous podcast host Taxstone was indicted one month after being arrested in connection with the deadly shooting that took place at New York City music venue Irving Plaza in May 2016.
According to documents from Bossip, a federal jury indicted the Tax Season host on the following charges: being a felon in possession of a firearm and receiving a gun through interstate commerce.
Federal prosecutors believe that the burgeoning social media personality was in illegal possession of the 9-millimeter Kel-Tec semiautomatic handgun found in the vehicle used to transport rapper Troy Ave to the hospital after the deadly shooting of Ave’s friend and bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter.
The semiautomatic gun was also said to have been obtained from out of state, according to court documents.
Taxstone was arrested in January of this year, and is currently being held without bail. Days after he was arrested, it was reported that a judge chose not to grant his $500,000 bail.
Upon his arrest, it was revealed that Taxstone’s DNA was believed to have been found on “the trigger, hand grip and magazine” of the handgun that killed McPhatter backstage at a concert at Irving Plaza in May 2016.
If found guilty, Taxstone is looking at a maximum of 10 years for each of the two charges he faces.
