Money, sex, drugs, and violence… What y’all think I’m illustrating? A night of clubbin’?  Or trying to get over a hard break up? Wrong, we’re talking about the most predominant subject matters in hip-hop. The circulation of materialism and negativity throughout the industry is what has lately defined the culture. Now whether or not this is a good thing is up to the us. The listeners, the fans of the game.

Is it our obligation to express the exciting and spontaneous nature of our youth? Maybe it is. Maybe it’s necessary for us to have an outlet that allows us channel our creativity and evolve humanity. But more so, it’s important for us to educate and encourage one another. We are accountable for helping each other grow as a society. Do you think rap music is following in the same foot steps of its forefathers or have big corporation totally sabotage the music for greed? Hopefully hip-hop can one day prove to have more of a positive influence and beneficial subject matters than money, sex, drugs, and violence. Because hip hop being so powerful and influential around the world that whatever it feeds the masses is what the masses is going to become.
