Rappers Who Have Made Songs Uplifting Women

It’s not too often nowadays, that women can turn on the radio and hear a hip hop song praising her natural beauty, her intelligence or calling her a queen. Not in mainstream rap, anyway. Instead of focusing on the negative, let’s look at some popular artists that celebrate the beauty of women and some of their songs worth checking out.

1.) Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick is no stranger to speaking his mind and going against the status quo. This Compton rapper is known for speaking his thoughts on race relations and showing love to women of all colors. Check Out: “Complexion” & “No Makeup”.

2.) Andre 3000

Everyone’s favorite (or just mine). 3 Stacks has no problem getting in touch with his more intimate side and telling the ladies how he really feels. Check Out: “Prototype” & “Behold a Lady”.

3.) Tupac

Not everyone’s usually focused on Pacs women empowerment songs, but he has quite a few under his belt. Pac was never afraid to call us queens and provide a voice for us – you know, when he wasn’t dissing the skeezers. Check Out: “Dear Mama”, “Keep Ya Head Up” & “Baby Don’t Cry”.

4.) J. Cole

One of the best and most under-rated rappers out today (my opinion). Cole is always dropping thought provoking music and never fails to discuss the plight of most women. Check Out: “Crooked Smile” & “Lost Ones”.
