Life & Times of MF Doom

Let’s get inside the mind of one of the most genius artists in the rap game, MF Doom. The former KMD MC has expressed his skills through different vessels that include collaborations with producers as well as solo projects. What separates Doom from other artists is the utilization of the following aliases:

DangerDoom – This is a collaboration between DJ Danger Mouse and himself. The DangerDoom collective has only released one album titled ‘The Mouse and the Mask’. This was an example of Doom’s ability to manipulate his flow and delivery in order to squeeze every ounce of efficiency from the beat. Every kick, snare, and pause becomes his advantage.
Viktor Vaughn – Doom has dropped two albums under this alternate character, titled ‘Vaudeville Villain’ and ‘Venomous Villain’. Viktor Vaughn seems to adopt the mindset of a younger Daniel Dumile (MF Doom), where he illustrates more of a street life in his music that includes sex, drugs, mugging, cyphers, and things of that nature.
King Geedorah – This name plays on the words ‘King Ghidora’, a name for a three-headed flying monster from the Godzilla series, however, the main difference being that King Geedorah is actually a three-headed space monster that’s trying to take over planet Earth. Geedorah’s only project, ‘Take Me To Your Leader’, is very different from anything else that’s been classified as hip-hop. Many of the tracks are layered recordings that describe the story that Daniel is illustrating, rather than songs. Although the songs that are on the project are very tasteful.
Madvillainy: In case you’ve been under a rock. This is a collaboration between Doom and Madlib, only dropping one album called ‘Madvillain’. Doom most definitely goes in on this one and makes it one of the greatest projects of his time, but then again having Madlib produce the album from top to bottom isn’t exactly a liability. Two of the most  engaging, stimulating, and inspiring artists within the rap game prove to be the greatest two people to work together since John Stockton and Karl Malone. For those who haven’t heard of it, there’s not much that can be said about this record besides ‘Just listen to it!’
