How do you really feel about Young Thug?

What do yall think of Young Thug? Are his whiny vocals and wild behaviors just part of a gimmick? Or is he a truly progressive and positive contribution to the game? As a rookie in the game and having three nominations for the Hip Hop BET Awards in 2014, it’s a fair argument to say he actually has some real life accomplishments. Maybe another accomplishment of his is benefiting the hip hop culture and making it something we can all be proud of, right? Hopefully you can smell the sarcasm there.

If it’s not enough that he calls his homies ‘lover’ and ‘bae’, we can also be skeptical of his sexuality because of how he dresses… I mean, I’ve never heard of a ‘blood’ wearing dresses and woman’s leggings. Come on Thug, that ain’t rap. That’s not hip hop! Is Jerrika Karlae a cover up?
It doesn’t end there, there’s also acquisitions of him biting other emcees. By attempting to adopt the title of a series that Charlamagne Tha God describes as ‘iconic’, is Young Thug disrespecting a legend?
[Charlamagne]
“He’s no Lil Wayne… Listen, it’s just not in him. Lil Wayne’s a legend. We gotta start giving Wayne the respect he deserves… Carter is Lil Wayne’s last name, it’s an iconic series, and you just jump out there and say, ‘Hey, I’m gonna call my album Carter 6,’ that’s just corny to me.”
This southern rapper is most definitely unlike anything the game has experienced prior to him. We’ll leave it for you to decide. Is Young Thug truly trying to shake up the game in a way that no one’s done for the better? Is he just being himself? Or is he just taking wild stabs at anything that he believes will attract attention?
