3 Rappers who fell off

King Los: Despite Los’ undeniable talents, his career isn’t taking off the way he and/or his fans may have hoped for. His newest mixtape Zero Gravity II (2014) consisted of maybe a couple songs displaying his talents, while the rest encased sing-songy hooks and corny internet-trending meme references. Maybe he can turn it around in his upcoming project God, Money, War (projected to release in 2015).

Asher Roth: Let’s face it, it’s almost impossible to even argue that he’s still in the game. And although Asher did show progress and proper artistic integrity between his mixtapes/albums, he hasn’t dropped anything since 2013 (The Greenhouse Effect Vol. 2). Another contribution to the game could make or break his career at this point.

Lupe Fiasco: Since the Farenheit 1/15 mixtape series began, Lupe has been one of the most influential lyricists. And since that same series of mixtapes, he has lost the keen hunger that allows him to continue furthering his quality of music. This lack of pursuit is featured on Lu’s newest album Tetsuo & Youth(2015), and although there is a strong subject matter, his overall delivery and authenticity doesn’t suffice in comparison to his potential.
